Oh yes, we all know that lets-put-some-wooden-boxes-here-and-there approach which was used so many times in so many weddings already. Basically the designer or stylist of the wedding just sets up a decorated corner somewhere at the reception venue: puts some wooden crates next to each other or on top of each other and enhances the overall look using some other carefully chosen decor elements like flowers, candles, pieces of fabrics etc. Sometimes these boxes have a different purpose which is a bit more functional, for example, they are used to store guests gifts or confetti packets. But this time I would like to share a completely different approach with you. I hope these ideas will help to keep your sustainably creative juices flowing!
1. Organize your bar space

Everything is very simple: put vines into the first crate (or separate reds to one crate and whites to the other one), whiskeys – to the second etc. Add some raffia and olive (or other local plant) branches and voila – perfect order and striking aesthetic sensibility at once!
2. Create a food station

Turn your wooden crates upside-down and put them on the table as stands (pedestals) to elevate and spread out your appetisers or sweets in the space. Or you can even create all food station just from crates by putting them on top of each other. However, don’t forget about health and safety here: the structure must be stable, so it’s important to attach wooden boxes to each other, as well as to the ground.
3. Spell out your menu

Well, I must admit this one if my favourite. However, it is also the hardest to make I am afraid. So if your handwriting is not very clear, you will need some professional help. But don’t let that stop you! Feuilleté de saumon? OMG… yes, please!
