I guess it is not a secret that the quality of light makes the difference between ‘OK photos’ and ‘stunning photos’.
So, how to catch the best light for your wedding pictures??
Well, it is super easy (even though you think that you are not very photogenic)! You can do that approximately one hour after the sunrise and one hour before the sunset. The subtle light during these golden hours are usually called magical light by photographers. Why? Because during the time periods I mention before the sun is very low in the sky so the light is really soft and warm. And it creates magical feeling for your photos! Especially when you compare them with pictures taken about midday when the sun light is very harsh. So, to make long story short, golden light just makes people look pretty. Their skin shimmers, facial features look softer, dark circles under the eyes mystically disappear (if they have them, of course) and they even look happier! More over, this light is very gentle so it can fall on the face but the person won’t screw up his or her eyes. Well, it feels really like magic, doesn’t it?
And the best part is… that the golden light is totally free! And you can get it twice a day (almost always, ha ha)
Uff, by the way… If now you are grumbling that you are not a photographer and you don’t need to know stuff like that, I have an answer for you! Well, it is always better to have more knowledge by yourself. Why? Because the golden hour which you could use for free will usually happen during… your wedding dinner! And you will be quite busy, won’t you? And… I am not sure if the photographer will offer you to skip the appetizer for trying to catch the golden light in those fields or the white beach near the venue. But if you will be aware of the power it has, maybe you will speak about such a possibility with your photographer, won’t you? The truth is that we all seek for something magical during our wedding day. Yes or no?
