The beauty of contrast

This idea of decorating a ceremony backdrop with a bunch of dry branches and some string lights looked a bit alien for me at the beginning. I must admit that the overall view was maybe TOO MUCH for a wedding. But then again, all of that depends on the couple. There definitely are some folks to whom this decor is just perfect. And the more I looked into these pictures, the more I liked this authentic backdrop. Yes, it is super bold, it is different and it is quirky. Moreover, its elements kind of fight and contrast with each other. We can see something from nature (branches), something from the busy city (globe style outdoor string lights) and something from home (black curtains). Their nature is contrasting, but at the same time they seem to match perfectly.

And, anyway, nature is full of contrasts (as is our life as well). No one would argue that nature is beautiful. Therefore, it’s clear that beauty is found in contrast!

And what about power supply?

Okey, so you’ve got some branches and string lights. You’ve even sourced a wooden frame for your backdrop. And, to be honest, it is not a rocket science to find a way to attach some branches to any kind of wooden frame and to hang some string lights (imagine, that you are decorating your Christmas tree, ha-ha). But now, obviously, you need an electricity supply. It’s no secret that sustainability and clean energy are interconnected. So, how to get a sustainable energy source or supply for your outside wedding? I mean, those string lights are not going to light themselves just because your smiles are so beautiful (it’s a shame though, I know!). How to make this natural-meats-urban backdrop light and shine fully? Well, my friends, you will be surprised how many options are available out there!

First of all, there are battery operated string lights. So, in this case you just will need two or three sets of rechargeable batteries. Then there exists even such a thing as solar powered string lights! And if you require more power for your outside wedding, then there are eco-friendly generators for which the biofuel instead of traditional fuel is used. Using them you can sustainably power not only your wedding ceremony, but also your outdoor reception as well!

The question of style integrity

At first sight dry branches like that can look like an exceptionally rebel decor element which is hard to work with. Are you worried about the style integrity and how to introduce this design concept into your overall wedding decor? Well, honestly, sky is the limit here. In fact, you can use branches to decorate your reception tables and even as a part of your bouquets and boutonnieres! Yes, you are right, I am a big fan of dry branches, ha-ha!
