Vegetable?? Oh yes, you’ve read it right.
I am really suggesting you to use some ‘vegetable magic’. But please let me start from the very beginning.
So, if you have been planning to get married this summer, chances are you two decided to push your plans closer to golden autumn days because of the situation the corona virus has brought. And now you, of course, have to rethink some aspects of the Big day. Like, for example, the fact that you won’t be able to decorate your venue with peonies in the end of September, right? Or maybe you originally planned to hold your wedding in fall, just haven’t decide yet on decor & details. Very well then! Because I have a great sustainable wedding decor idea just for you! It’s super simple: just use various vegetables to decorate your ceremony and/or reception area. Yes, I’ve said ‘vegetables’ again. Vegetables and weddings. Sounds weird, no?
Definitely not a common design solution (technically yes, but so what?)
Our eyes are quite used to lemons, oranges, figs, grapes, pomegranates, pineapples and pumpkins used as table setting elements. All these are actually quite popular in weddings and it’s great. But have you ever seen any cabbages, onions, potatoes, parsnips or turnips scattered on any wedding table ever? I haven’t (till now). But that’s the point! We just need to dare to be different and stop doing what everyone else is doing.
Of course, everyone has their own personal taste. Well, if your favourite flower is peony, I am not going to argue with you here. But if your favourite vegetable is onion then we understood each other I suppose. Just imagine, how cool would this idea be for vegan wedding for example! And it is also not a very pricey one! Moreover, all the vegetable decor can be reused (apparently, as food)! How awesome is that! If it is too much for you to eat, you can always offer vegetables to those in your community who don’t have enough food.
