Not so obvious? Why do I say so? Well, I’ve been working at quite a few real weddings and styled shoots last year and, honestly, we’ve used rose petals just…once and just a bit! Of course, not all newlyweds and wedding professionals I had an honour to work with focused on saving the environment or money, but many of them did, at least tried to save the latter, ha ha.
Let’s justify them
The reason behind this unpopularity is probably the hackneyed and banal image of rose petals decor. Well, you know, all those heart shapes made from red petals on the bedroom bed and so on… But the thing is that they can really be used in chick and stylish way, just we need to put some efforts! And the best thing is that you don’t need to pay for the crazy amount of fresh flowers to make those lush centrepieces. What you need is just some matching colour roses (and these blooms don’t even need to be the fresh ones!) and, of course, some free time to get the petals off the roses. Umm, by the way, here is a very useful tutorial, how to do this job easily and without breaking the petals!

Be consistent
As we all do know, usually the petals are used to cover the aisle. So… Probably the best way to avoid being too banal, obvious and boring is to incorporate the petals in a few different places of your stylish design and to try to make things look as unique as possible. Of course, you can consider using these beauties for aisle but maybe in different kind of a way, for example, making the piles of them by the sides of the path?
Then, naturally, it would be a really good idea to use some petals to decorate the top table and guests’ tables, wouldn’t it? But even though we are used to see the layers of petals in luxurious designs, what about rustic or bohemian celebrations? Do you feel me…? Just dare to be different!

And, needless to say, it would be a sin to forget to put some silky petals around the cake or on the sweet table! Soft petals and… edgy succulents??! Why not!

Awwww, and how cute is this mini one standing proudly under the little glass cover?
