Hey there!
I have to admit that I literally adore feathers! Don’t judge me! This is a consequence of my love for bohemian style. However you can find many amazing boho inspired table sets with different feathers on the Internet, right? So I tried to make feather look classical, you know. So I searched for inspiration in calligraphy art. Have I succeeded?..
So… Please let me present my idea. The good news is that it’s actually quite cheap. You’ll need some long feathers (I used goose feather, I bet you know that in ancient times those like this one was used for writing). Also I bought some dip pen nibs (there was seven different nibs in one pack and they cost me an euro or so). I chose one of the metal nibs and fastened it to feather using some flexible silver florist ware. And: Taa Daaam! That’s my super cheap interpretation of feather pen or quill which was used already during Dark Ages. I ended my composition with some white cotton string and white letter seal stamp (again – an elegant hint to ancient times). Normally you would need a stamp and special wax stick but I used (please don’t laugh) – a white wax crayon and a metal button. But I think I should invest in some stamps and wax sticks if I’ll decide to do more similar projects. It would be more convenient I guess, ha ha. Also, as you can see, I printed a calligraphy inspired table card. And that’s all!
Uff.. I wish you good luck with your projects! Please feel free to evaluate mine in comments!
